Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Stoger says there is “nothing concrete” in reports linking striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a move to Arsenal.

The Gabon international, who is wanted by the Gunners, did not travel with his team-mates for Friday’s league game at Hertha Berlin, which ended 1-1.

“There is nothing on the table, only hot air,” said Stoger.

“We’re planning with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and there’s a way back into the team for him.”

Aubameyang also missed Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg after he failed to attend a team meeting.

The 28-year-old is Dortmund’s top scorer this season with 13 goals from 15 games.

Shinji Kagawa

“All week long he was good at training, which is why I said at my press conference that he would be in the team,” former Cologne coach Stoeger said.

“But at the last practice I just felt like he wasn’t fully focused. It was a very important match and we have so many quality players that I chose another one.

“But I select the group every week. He has time to show he wants it. If he gives everything next week, he’ll be in the squad.”

Friday’s draw moved Stoger’s side up to third, 14 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Shinji Kagawa scored Dortmund’s equaliser when he stabbed in a cross by on-loan Manchester City winger Jadon Sancho, who made his second start for the Bundesliga side.

Davie Selke had given Hertha Berlin the lead early in the second half, side-footing home from close range.
